Period Drama Montage - “It’s Raining Men”

Lol, too appropriate for this Tumblr.

This? Is awesome. I also feel I should have known that Dan Stevens was in an Austen adaption (Sense and Sensibility as Edward). *adds to the loooong list of things to watch*

Matthew Macfadyen (Mr. Darcy in the 2005 movie version) reading the first proposal scene from the book.

So good, so so good.  His voice is perfect.  I could listen forever.

  5. you have bewitched me, body and soul,
and I love.. I love.. I love you..

“You must know… surely, you must know it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you spoke with my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope as I’d scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on.”

  7. Unpopular opinion: I prefer Matthew MacFadyen as Darcy.

Which is not to say I dislike Colin Firth’s portrayal at all (and Jennifer Ehle is a better Lizzy - even though I like Keira - and the BBC adaption is better overall) I just really liked the way Matthew did it for reasons I can’t quite put my finger on.

This all comes back to the fact that I still like the movie a whole heap more than I ever thought I would.

Also: I don’t care for the white shirt in the lake scene. Yeah.

I completely lost it when I saw this one. Oh god this movie is going to be so ridiculous! And yet, I will still be paying money to see it because I am powerless before both a Three Musketeers adaption, and Matthew Macfadyen and Christoph Waltz being in the same film.

Movie Trailer of the Day: The first official teaser trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s The Three Musketeers.

The film, which stars Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson, Christoph Waltz, Orlando Bloom, Milla Jovovich, and Logan Lerman as D’Artagnan, is set to open wide October 14.

This looks like it’s on just a teeny-tiny little bit of crack (apocalypse, flying ships, Matrix-like action sequences, what?!) but I am powerless before Dumas adaptions. Also Matthew Macfadyen as Athos and Christoph Waltz and RIcheliu? Hell yes. However, Orlando Bloom, what is that hair?
